Powering your Avia device with the DC adapter
Plug your Avia device into a standard wall outlet using the included DC adapter.
The DC adapter is the simplest way to power your Avia device: it plugs into a standard wall outlet near the entrance. It pairs with either Ethernet (wired data) or Wi-Fi.

A standard power outlet within cable reach of the device
Steps
Locate the power port on the Avia device (on the side or rear of the unit).
Plug the DC adapter's connector into the device.
Route the cable along the ceiling or wall to the nearest outlet, using cable clips to keep it tidy.
Plug the adapter into the outlet.
The device LED should light up within 30 seconds.
Cable management tips
Route the cable along the edge of the ceiling or skirting board to keep it out of sight
Use cable clips (not included) to fix the cable against the wall or ceiling
Avoid running the cable where it could be pulled or tripped over
Power requirements
The DC adapter is auto-switching (100-240V, 50/60Hz) and works with any standard outlet worldwide. No voltage converter is needed. The device consumes between 3W and 6W; a standard 12V/1A adapter is sufficient, no special circuit needed.
Warning: If the outlet is on a switched circuit (e.g. controlled by a light switch), make sure it's always left on. The device needs continuous power to stay connected and collect data.
