Avia on Shopify POS: the staff view
What store staff see in the Avia POS extension, and how it differs from the admin app.
Avia includes a UI extension for Shopify POS, built for store staff. It gives the team on the floor an at-a-glance view of their store's performance for the day, without needing access to the full admin dashboard.
What staff can see
The POS view shows, for the day:
Total Traffic
Unique Visitors
Conversion Rate
Age groups
Gender breakdown
Predicted traffic
How it differs from the Avia app for Shopify
Automatic store link: the POS extension connects automatically to the store the POS device is logged into β there's no separate setup to link it. It shows data for that store only.
Scope: the POS view only shows data for the specific store the POS is logged into. The admin app shows all stores in the organization.
Depth: the POS view is a reduced set of daily metrics. Full analytics (heatmaps, Labor Efficiency, Missed Opportunity, comparisons, historical ranges) live in the Avia app for Shopify Admin.
Adding Avia to your POS
As of 2025, POS app tiles are added from the Shopify admin, not on the device:
Make sure the Avia app for Shopify is installed.
In your Shopify admin, go to Point of Sale β Settings.
In the Customization section, click POS app to open the POS editor.
Select the smart grid template you want to edit.
Go to the page where you want the tile, then tap β Add tile.
Tap Embedded Apps, then select Avia β POS Store Analytics.
Click Save.
Who can access it
Access to Avia follows Shopify's native permissions: if a user has rights to see apps in your Shopify organization, they can access Avia.
